SIPS Technical
Shop drawings:
Shop drawings are fabrication drawings that are
developed from the original architectural drawings
provided by the customer. They also serve as
installation/framing drawings to in insure that the
panels are installed per there designated location
in the structure. They are typically developed
utilizing not only the information from the
architectural drawings but also incorporating
information provided by the window and door
manufacture to insure proper opening sizes. They are
also developed in conjunction with structural draws
to determine structural load paths.
Plumb
cut material:
Dimensional material cut to fit bevel-cut panels.
Primarily for roof panels. Bevel material is also
required in some wall details.
CNC
Cutting:
Computer Numercially Controlled (CNC) cutting is
performed by a machine tool that uses software to
automatically execute a series of machining
operations. CNC machines offer increased
productivity, flexibility and accuracy.
Treated
Seal Plate:
Treated sole plate is located at the bottom of the
SIP walls. It provides a layer of protection against
any moisture wicking from the concrete into the SIP
wall components. By using a treated seal plate of 1
1/8” thick the proper framing height of the wall is
ensured.
